Survive the Ten Plagues of Egypt in this exciting set collection game.
Biblical. Engaging.
Fun for the whole Family.
In this 2-4 player game, each player is collecting plague cards to complete goals on the pyramid cards. The game includes 24 unique pyramid cards with different types of objectives and different points based on difficulty. As players complete pyramid cards, the plague events will strike and impact each player's hand. The 10 events are based on the plagues of Egypt and thematically impact the game. In standard play the plagues come out in the same order as in the Bible; but in the advanced variant, the plagues are randomized. All these options offer unique plays every time.
How to play
Ten Plagues is easy to set up and learn
Set up
For standard play, arrange the plague event cards in order with the first plague on the top of the deck and the remaining plagues stacked underneath, all face down. On the bottom place the Exodus card. This card will be shuffled into the deck after the last plague is triggered.
The rest of the 5-card pyramid will be formed with the goal cards. These pyramid cards are shuffled and dealt face up for all players to see. All these goals are based on collecting specific sets of plague cards. While some goals will be familiar to players that play other card games, like collecting 3 of a kind, or a run of numbers, others require players to collect a specific sum or collection of different plagues. In addition to text, the cards also include iconography to allow for a fast understanding of the objective.
Your Hand
To complete the setup, each player is dealt 10 cards from the plague deck and kept hidden from the other players. The remaining cards are placed below the pyramid with the top card used to form the discard pile. The tomb card is placed next to the deck for later use.
Game play
On a player's turn,
A player selects a card from either the top of the deck or the discard pile,
then they discard a card into the discard pile.
They can now decide if they can complete a pyramid card with their cards or pass play to the next player.
If a player can complete the goal of a pyramid card,
they place the cards used to fulfill the goal into the tomb,
refill their hand back to ten cards,
take the completed pyramid card and place it in front of them face up.
A new pyramid card is drawn to replace the completed goal
After any player completes a pyramid card the next plague event card is revealed. The player that completed the pyramid card reads the plague event and resolves with the rest of the players as directed in the event. After the event is resolved, the event is placed above the pyramid face up. This is now the current plague.
Each of the plague events will impact the game differently and are intended to thematically represent the events depicted in the Bible. While lice will have you passing cards to other players, pestilence will have you discarding animal cards. All of these events will impact the player's ability to complete objectives, some will help, while others will make them adapt their plans.
The End
After all the ten plagues have been revealed the Exodus begins. The Exodus card is shuffled into the remaining deck and all cards in the tomb and discard card pile are removed from play. The game continues with players only drawing from the top of the deck and working to complete objectives. Once a player draws the Exodus card the game ends immediately.
The player with the most points from their completed pyramid cards is the winner.
